HibernatN & ProcrasinatN

Hey Butterflies!  I miss you all so much.  I remember when I was really active online and was able to keep up with what’s going on in your worlds.  I’m working on getting the email blast going again so we can all catch up.  I’m finally settled and getting it together.  There are not enough hours in the day, phew!

I’m looking forward to the release of my next cd “Rhythm & Blues” this December and if I could describe what’s coming out of the studio it would be “New.”  After gaining new experiences and missing my family like crazy there is no other word other than “Hot” to explain what’s coming!  Stay tuned for that.

With all that has been going on I also found another hobby.  I’m a foodie!  Check out my blog on these great recipes I’ve tried and follow me to stay up on new posts . http://tanealblogs.com/

Atlanta!  If you are attending the Sweet Auburn Springfest this weekend, you don’t want to miss my performance.  I’m so ready and I’m getting the live itch.  I have a tee-shirt for the first person that comes up to me and says “Hey Butterfly!”  I’m so excited and can’t wait to see familiar faces and meet New ones!

Peace and Blessings

My 1st Mac and Meeting People

"Hey don't I know you?  What's your name again?"

Hey Butterflies!  I sometimes can't seem to get to this blog these days.  Not that I'm waiting for some long drawn out post of info to share with you, I really don't like complaining about the things I'm going through these days.  Any situation I find myself in has been fuel to my journey.  If you see me out somewhere it will only be for a few seconds.  I'm always on the go and "My Office" is mobile at the moment.  I just can't get settled long enough without someone coming to me saying, "I'm sorry, I see you're busy and don't want to bother you but...BLAH BLAH BLAH."  One girl at Starbucks was talking to me and I didn't even realize she was talking to me until I took my earphones out.  Not that I do not like talking to people but I'm starting to feel some people I run into are trying to keep me from something.  This is not always the case, because I would say 1 out of 10 people I meet, are people who are on a similar path as me or have been there and are now successful.  So I give people atleast a good 10 minutes.  Long enough to exchange a hello, I'm a songwriter, what do you do, here is my card and hope you have a wonderful day!  You know?

There is a goal you want to reach so there will be times people will try and make you feel guilty about being focused or help you along the way.  Being focused is not being selfish.  I'm just finishing up the book "The Alchemist" I'm in love with this book!  It says that everyone is born with a Personal Legend.  I will not go into detail but you should check this book out.  Page by page I'm taking notes and saying 'I know that's right'.... in my head.

Staying focused is not a problem but the world around me is trying to push me into a card board box.  I'm a lil worried about safety but I'm not afraid to do what I have to do to get this music project done!  I'll move out in the woods if they have wifi!  So anyway, after years of praying! and hard work.  I now have a MacBook in my life!  I needed this for so many reasons and now that I have it, I'm one step closer to where I am destined to be!

Hey Butterflies!  Hope you are enjoying life today.  After having a conversation with a lady in line at the post office, I thought I would share something.  As a consumer, If something breaks take it BACK to the store, if you have another problem write a letter to the company.  Some people probably don't take the time to do this because the lady I talked to said she is so busy that she didn't realize speaking up can make things right and will also help the companies.  Otherwise leave it to them to pay people like me who get paid to do case studies :)  The point of this is that I call, write or email companies when I'm interested in their service or products and especially if I have a problem with it.   You invest in them so if something is wrong, contact them and let them know.

On another note, I love meeting new people and have no problem building relationship with them.  Now in business, I do business with people who I know I can trust.  In 2007, I found In House Digital online when I got ready to manufacture my first cd.  I called them after reading the "About Us" section on their website and then signed up to receive a catalog.  I was pleased with the final product and I emailed them to let them know.  After sharing things and getting to know them and the owner Mike DiCosola who is a great business man, he invited me to perform at his Halloween Party West of Chicago.  Good Times!  In House Digital is no longer in business but Mike and I still network.  My new manufacturers are Disc Makers and I love their service too!  I network with the CEO Tony Van Veen and he is a great business man. as well!

So as a reader I'd like to know from you, what you think about my blog?  You can even ask questions and share your opinions on my music career as well.  Send me an email to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.  I will also add you to the mailing list.  I'm planning to set up an email blast again.  It's been a while since I've done that.  Anyway, hey check out my latest inquiry to Glade.  They responded quickly on my concerns and sent me a few coupons.  Sweet!

Peace and Blessings

Hey Butterflies!  I'm sorry for the delay on blogs.  I wanted to do two a week but again the "Atlanta Situation" became a problem for a hot second.  That's what I call it now instead of talking about it when I talk to my family.  They already know it's not good if I say that.  Anyway, it is interesting to see how people never stop with the drama no matter how much you try to help them see outside of the box.  The world is not so big when it comes to people who are so disrespectful and mean to one another.  I'm a sweet person yes but don't dig so deep that you dig up my alter ego Hennessey.  I do not need to act hardcore when I'm a lyricist.  I kill with words then bury with silence and I think that's what starts the drama or shall I say mind games.  I do not have time for this crap, this is not a challenge.  I will continue to reach my goals no matter if you reach yours or not so what is the game here?  Distraction!  That's all it is to me.  With the music project, finishing school and working I only hear Blah Blah Blah from haters!

I had to vent a little, it's healthy.  I may as well because that is the only healthy thing I'm doing today.  I will be starting this afternoon on this feast.  You have to start early so you don't over eat in one sitting :)  What I cooked to put on the table:

  • Chocolate Pecan Pie
  • Pumpkin Cheesecake
  • Bit Yo Tongue Candied Yams
  • Kick Yo Mama in the Knee Potato Salad

I will probably take pictures and post them in my "What I Crave, I Cook" photo album on facebook CLICK HERE to see the other pics if you haven't already.

Wishing you all a Happy Happy Thanksgiving!  I'm Thankful for you my frans and family and everyday I survive and get one step closer to reaching my goals!  Look what I got in the mail the other day and the new preamp is on the way.  So yes, I'm VERY Thankful!

Peace and Blessings

"As you walk the earth, some say if you stop and listen you can hear the music of the world."

Hey Butterflies!  I'm sitting on the deck today with a glass of wine and watching the farmers at work.  You should see how proud and peaceful they are.  I was talking to one of them yesterday, and I thought I would share some things he said.  The first thing people have to realize is that if there were no farmers, we wouldn't have fresh meat and produce to buy at the market.  Their dedication to farming and the process of raising animals is the same as we should see life as entrepreneurs.  You have to first believe in what you are doing.  Believing is motivating and others see that in your work.  Second, you have to know what you're doing.  Doing research and staying up on the latest developing tools is important to keep up with the world and how it changes every day.  Thirdly, you have to love what you're doing.  You cannot expect for others to love your work if you do not love it.

Lastly, beware of your attitude and how you approach people.  Whether if it's someone you just met on the street or a potential business partner, you never know how or when you will see them again.  Attitude is key over all the other things the farmer had to share with me.  I remember as a kid, one of my teachers use to always talk about how we carry ourselves and how we saw the world would change for the worse if we did not want to view the best things life had to offer.

While on your journey of finding yourself and finding how you fit in the world, consider those people who are walking around laughing and smiling.  Do you ever wonder why they are so happy?  No one really talk about these people.  How come they are so happy when others are so angry?  Do they think they are better than everyone else?  No, not at all.  The thing is that they not only have found their place in the world but they give back with the pride they have worked so hard to find.  These are the people I love to meet because they make me feel happiness is ok.  It's ok to be proud.  It's ok to love life and what you are doing to make the world a better place.

We are listening, so sing out loud!

Peace and Blessings
